Meet Pastor Paul Moessner

Joining on March 16 as RELC's Transitional Pastor.

First First Hooper, Nebraska, then southern Ohio, followed by northwest Missouri provided the communities for my childhood and teenage years. After my father’s death, our family moved to Lincoln, where I completed high school and graduated from UNL. I received my training for ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey. On June 19, 1976, I was ordained at Saint John’s Lutheran Church, near Tarkio, Missouri, my father’s last congregation.

I served congregations in Hanover, Kansas; Stillwater, Oklahoma; and Columbia, Missouri. In 2016, the Nebraska Synod Bishop asked me to come to Omaha to serve in transitional ministry — first at Kountze Memorial (Omaha), then Immanuel (Bellevue), and Saint John’s (Bennington).

Donna and I were married in 1975. Our family includes daughter Krista Boyd, husband Eric, children Hugo and Vera (Plymouth, MN); and daughter Anja Walentik, husband Steve, children Benjamin and Jacob (Richmond Heights, MO).
