Baptism
We hold baptisms for infants, children and adults, please contact church office for more information.
Sunday School
- Resurrection Kids – In addition to weekly Sunday school, we have a variety of events to involve family throughout the year.
Elementary Age
- Student Bibles (3rd Grade) – They are given to students for use during the duration of their faith formation.
- Acolyte Service (4th-9th Grade) – The youth will learn about the service, names of the spaces in church and liturgical furniture and fixtures.
- First Communion (5th grade) – We offer a class each year to help children learn about the history of Passover, what sacraments mean to Lutherans, and the night that our Lord instituted Holy Communion.
- Vacation Bible School (VBS) – This is offered for free every summer to the kids of Resurrection and our Gretna Community.
Confirmation/Middle School
6th Grade
- 10-Week Mentorship Program – Students learn more about the Bible while meeting with an adult mentor.
- Cross-Project - The student and mentor create a cross to present to congregation.
- Confirmation Camp – Students have the opportunity to attend summer camp at NE Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ashland.
7-8th Grade
- Confirmation Classes - Students meet for 20 weeks a year to learn about the Bible, the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Ten Commandments.
- Confirmation Camp – Students have the opportunity to attend summer camp at NE Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ashland.
High School Ministry
9th-12th Grade
- Underground – Our high school youth group meets on Wednesday evenings for a variety of activities including Bible study, movies, discussion and games.
- Local and Summer Mission Trips
12th Grade
- Quilt Blessing – High school seniors work with the quilting group and their parents and receive a quilt to remember the security and comfort they have in God and their Resurrection family.
Adult
- WELCA (Women of the ELCA) – This group meets monthly for conversation and Bible study.
- Quilters – The quilters group meets regularly to make quilts for the community and for various fundraising and giving efforts.
- Older Wiser Lutheran (OWLs) – This 55 year old and older social group meets regularly for fun and service.
- Adult Bible Study - This Pastor led study covers various faith topics and books of the Bible.
